Rollingstone State School began in 1916, officially opening on the 4th of September with an enrolment of 28 students. It was called Rollingstone after the meandering creek that flows past the school and out to the ocean at Balgal Beach. The school has continued to grow over the years and has a current enrolment of approximately 60 students. The school follows the Australian National Curriculum and teaches multi-age classes from Prep through to year 6.

School Vision: We work together as a community of learners to enure that every day, in every classroom, every student is learning and achieveing. We strive to encourage and support every student as they strive to achieve their full potential.

Rollingstone State School has a whole school approach to enhance the mental, social and emotional wellbeing of our students.

One of the other values of Rollingstone State School is to promote environmental sustainability across all year levels as we live in a beautiful part of Quueensalnd. Students engage in the Reef Guardian Schools projects and have developed a positive relationship with the Scientists in Schools project, Tangaroa Blue and Teach Wild. In 2010 Rollingstone State School was the proud recipient of the Order of Australia Award – Primary Division for our Rolly Rangers Environmental Project based at Crystal Creek.

Our school is very proud to be a part of the Chaplains in Schools Program and our school Chappy works across all classes to promote student well being.
